Precision Parts Sorting Machine
Review the parts, separation criterion and handling arrangement for the sorting task.
Equipment selection starts with your material, target separation and process conditions.
01
How the parts screening and sorting process works
The part geometry, target separation and handling sequence determine the proposed machine arrangement. Parts screening is not automatically equivalent to orientation feeding or an assembly automation system.
02
Define the separation task
Discuss the sample and operating conditions before finalizing the configuration.
- Part-size separation
- Handling requirements review
- Sample-based configuration
03
Define the geometric rejection rule
The legacy machine is described for separating dimensional fractions of small components such as rings, balls and washers. It should not be treated as an optical inspection system. A useful enquiry includes a part drawing and a definition of which dimension makes a part acceptable or rejected.
- Provide dimensional limits, shape and surface-finish requirements.
- Separate diameter rejection from thickness rejection.
- Include representative acceptable, borderline and rejected samples.
04
Validate handling as well as classification
Components can overlap, nest or pass an opening in different orientations. The proposed tooling and feed method therefore need a part-specific assessment. Sorting should not be assumed to identify cracks, material grade or surface defects that are not measured by the separation mechanism.
- Specify allowable marks and damage during handling.
- Ask how mixed sizes and near-limit parts will be tested.
- Keep dimensional-accuracy claims subject to a documented acceptance trial.
CONFIGURATION REVIEW
Specify the machine for the task.
| Selection item | Information to confirm |
|---|---|
| Series and catalogue reference | Precision Parts Sorting Machine; match the proposed model to the table below. |
| Separation and screen arrangement | Define accepted/rejected fractions, aperture units and the deck arrangement for this duty. |
| Contact parts and interfaces | Agree screen medium, contact components, seals, connections and access. |
| Output and acceptance | Use defined material and quality conditions; catalogue dimensions do not guarantee output for every feed. |
Final technical values, dimensions and performance conditions are confirmed against the proposed equipment and application.
