Separate the material-transfer task from the feed-control task, then specify the interfaces between machines.
Separate the material-transfer task from the feed-control task, then specify the interfaces between machines.
A screw conveyor provides a transfer path; a vibratory feeder can serve a feed-presentation task. Neither product name alone establishes accurate gravimetric dosing. Draw the process from hopper to receiving inlet, including elevation changes, surge conditions and control signals. Identify a separate measurement system if controlled mass delivery is required.
| Route / component | Why to consider it | Selection boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Screw conveyor | Move bulk material along a specified route | Length, inclination, density, inlet and receiver; do not assume precision dosing |
| Electromagnetic bulk feeder | Present bulk feed to downstream equipment | Tray/controller, hopper behaviour, required range and interlocks |
| Metered delivery | A process requirement, not a consequence of either name | Measurement and feedback system must be explicitly specified |
