MATERIAL APPLICATION
EPS and plastic granules Screening
Plan eps and plastic granules screening around bulk density, particle shape, static behaviour and the desired product fractions.
Account for density, shape and static behaviour
Expanded-polystyrene beads, solid pellets and irregular regrind should be described separately. Bulk density, shape and static behaviour affect feeding and collection. A process that removes fines from pellets is different from one that separates polymers of similar particle size.
Agree the evaluation and its limits
Size screening does not identify polymer chemistry or guarantee removal of every contaminant. Define whether oversize, fines or agglomerates are the rejected stream. For lightweight material, include the transfer method and containment requirements in the enquiry.
Information for this material enquiry
Prepare the following material-specific information before a configuration is proposed.
- Beads, pellets or regrind with density information
- Size-based rejection rule and representative samples
- Static, containment and collection concerns
Shortlist a screening route for this duty
| Material task | Candidate / next decision | Why this boundary matters |
|---|---|---|
| Remove fines/oversize from solid pellets or regrind | Compare linear SZF and YB | Pellet dimensions, bulk density and rejected fractions |
| Lightweight EPS beads | Review the feed/collection path before the screen | Static and entrainment can matter as much as the aperture |
| Separate mixed polymer chemistry | Not achieved by size alone | Define other required process stages rather than promising complete sorting |
Prepare the comparison and sample request
