MATERIAL APPLICATION
Milk powder Screening
Plan milk powder screening around powder flow, agglomeration, contact materials and cleaning/changeover requirements.
Preserve the intended powder structure
Identify whether the feed is skimmed powder, whole-milk powder, an agglomerated instant product or a formulated blend. Removing foreign oversize and controlling a product-size distribution are separate tasks. Confirm whether disturbing deliberately formed agglomerates would change the product requirement.
Agree the evaluation and its limits
The cleaning method, access to retained powder and contact-material documentation matter for dairy applications. A screen does not establish microbiological compliance. Specify the actual hygiene procedure and any material-contact documentation needed rather than relying on a general food-grade description.
Information for this material enquiry
Prepare the following material-specific information before a configuration is proposed.
- Powder type and whether agglomerates must be preserved
- Oversize rejection target and usable product definition
- Cleaning method and product-changeover constraints
Shortlist a screening route for this duty
| Material task | Candidate / next decision | Why this boundary matters |
|---|---|---|
| Check screening before packing | Review S49 against feed and access | Preserve desired agglomerates and define rejected oversize |
| Several particle fractions | Evaluate YB with the required stream definitions | Measure unwanted breakage and recovery; not merely feed rate |
| Fine/cohesive powder with mesh restriction | Consider matched ultrasonic assistance after diagnosis | Compatibility, cleaning and material-contact documentation |
Prepare the comparison and sample request
