MATERIAL APPLICATION
Rice Screening
Plan rice screening around grain condition, broken fractions, foreign-material targets and the handling process.
Choose the rice fraction to separate
State whether the feed is paddy, brown rice, milled rice or a broken-rice mixture. Kernel shape and orientation affect passage through an opening. A separation based on width or thickness differs from one based on colour, density or internal quality.
Agree the evaluation and its limits
Size screening can help separate dimensional fractions, but it should not be described as a replacement for optical sorting or every impurity-removal stage. Define a method for measuring whole and broken kernels if product damage is part of the acceptance requirement.
Information for this material enquiry
Prepare the following material-specific information before a configuration is proposed.
- Rice processing stage and representative kernel dimensions
- Accepted and rejected fractions with samples
- Allowable broken-kernel proportion and its measurement
Shortlist a screening route for this duty
| Material task | Candidate / next decision | Why this boundary matters |
|---|---|---|
| Separate dimensional grain fractions | Review linear SZF or a rectangular grading series | Actual kernel geometry and whole/broken fraction measurements |
| Small sample size-distribution analysis | Select a compatible laboratory sieve setup | Laboratory sample data do not establish production output |
| Colour, density or internal-quality sorting | Not answered by size screening alone | A dimensional screen is not an optical sorter |
Prepare the comparison and sample request
