MATERIAL APPLICATION

Starch Screening

Plan starch screening around moisture, powder flow, agglomerates and the desired separation between product and oversize.

Describe the starch state and lump behaviour

Corn, cassava and modified starches should not be treated as interchangeable feeds. Identify whether the material is a dry powder, a damp cake or a suspension. For a dry-screening discussion, describe moisture, soft lumps and any storage or conveying change that precedes the screening problem.

Agree the evaluation and its limits

Decide whether the aim is check screening or a defined particle cut. Collect the accepted and retained streams separately in any agreed trial. Confirm that breaking agglomerates would be acceptable for the product; a sieve is not automatically a drying or milling stage.

Information for this material enquiry

Prepare the following material-specific information before a configuration is proposed.

  • Starch type and processing state
  • Available moisture or storage-condition record
  • Target aperture and definition of acceptable product
